Used Alerion Express 28s are scarce as the boats hold their resale value well and are in high demand. Check online listings services such as yachtworld.com for the latest available listings.

Beginning in 2002 (approximately hull number 180), two models of the AE28 were built, the original full keel model drawing 4'6" and a shoal keel model drawing 3'8". Here in the Chesapeake Bay region, the full keel model has a PHRF rating 6 seconds faster per mile than the shoal draft model, all other things being equal. Based on head to head racing, the PHRF difference is appropriate as the full keel model points closer and therefore sails faster to windward.
