The weather forecast was spot on Saturday, and only one race was completed for the Leukemia Cup. Our fleet crossed the starting line off of Lake Ogleton at 1105 in around 6 or 7 knots of breeze for a twice around windward/ leeward course in a northeasterly direction. Linnaea won the start and rounded the first weather mark clear ahead with Hero Squad and Caroline in hot pursuit. Things stayed that way for the first down wind leg, but on the second upwind leg with a weather mark change and with lots of Cal 25's and Harbor 20's now littering the course, particularly at the second weather mark, Hero Squad and Caroline slipped ahead. In a dying breeze, Caroline carried the day in a photo finish with Hero Squad.
First and second place trophies were presented at the Leukemia Cup Awards party at EYC. The fleet order of finish were as follows (official results posted at yachtscoring.com)
