We had 4 boats registered for this Regatta that was to be 3 windward/leeward races. Only Skimmer and Escape showed up for the start. The wind was again light and out of the NE when the first race started. It was to be a 4 leg course with a 3/4 mile weather leg at 35 degrees and with a downwind finish. On the first downwind, the wind got lighter and lighter and the race committee shortened the course and finished us at the leeward gate with Skimmer in first and Escape close behind.
We both decided to retire from the regatta at that point, which was a good call, as the wind soon went to zero and some of the J/105's behind us that were trying to complete their second downwind, never finished.
